Artist’s Statement

Through a chaotic hodge podge of costume design, improvisational comedy, and original scripts and screenplays, I strive to promote positivity, authenticity, and embracing your inner nerd.

I was trained by members of the Quad Cities branch of ComedySportz in improv, the principles of which I still draw from today. My writing and comedy style is influenced by shows like Gravity Falls and Mystery/Ghost Files. My design style can be traced to several influences, such as Steven Universe, or to distinct aesthetics or styles, such as Tim Burton or Guillermo del Toro.

An example of how a show or aesthetic has influenced me is the costume design of the independent film Here and Now. When designing this work, I was very influenced by the Hex Girls from Scooby-Doo, as well as the general spooky vibes of Halloween and the gothic/punk aesthetic for Savvy's character.

A coveted triple threat, I aspire to be an inspiration to all those like me. Promoting positivity, authenticity, and the willingness to embrace your inner self through my writing, improvisational comedy, and costume design.
